Winter Beauty – A poem

A vision who breathes out frosty hearts

Whose eyes make snowflakes dance in the wind

A delicate outline with the faintness of an angel

A vision who breathes out frosty hearts

Whose eyes make snowflakes dance in the wind

A delicate outline with the faintness of an angel

The ground starts to crackle as my journey starts

How to contrive a thing beyond imagination

The mind can fathom a million possibilities

Yet I stop in my footsteps, toes curling in the frost

A being such as this almost invites consternation

Her hair falls delicately onto shoulders of nothingness

Her eyes move upwards with a sign of inquisitiveness

Her lips part slowly and close with indecisiveness

Yet she stands unaffected, a vision of the ethereal

I am blown by the gale but buffeted by her beauty

We’re on top of the world but she is my only preserver

I reach out and bring her close to my heartbeat

It’s removed from my chest and she beats for both of us

A soul removed from a body given to an angel

My legs give way and I’m gone, but complete
