Frozen Hearts – A Poem

Don’t you wish you could grab the dream?

The desperate pity that resides in some
The soaring desire that others have touched
That they claim is theirs
Yet hundreds have frozen hearts

The sides of the earth are not so straight
Is that why the greedy slip to depravity?
But the commoners suffer the same fate
For those who want more can reach their goals
Yet thousands have frozen hearts

Without the bravery to seize the future
The unfulfilled slouch all around us
People refuse to exit their shells
For the fear they never knew could be conquered
So millions have frozen hearts

The Wonders of the unknown propel some forward
What never existed may now exist
For to touch the sky you must defrost the exterior
The edge is there so get a bit closer
To melt the emptiness of frozen hearts
