Berlin, a creative, vibrant and cultural city filled with wonderful art and an abundance of history. Known for its out of the ordinary activities, hot spots and wild parties, it is not a challenge to spend a perfect weekend in such a momentous city. Here you can find a round-up of some of the best things to do in the capital this weekend.

A vibrant atmosphere

Start off the German experience with a free urban art tour with the help of a flock of tourists and an enthusiastic tour guide. You will gain a unique perspective of Berlin’s urban art provided by Alternative Berlin Tours.

Tours are held every day at 11am and 1pm allowing you to meet the notorious urban artists of Berlin. The streets are filled with expressive art and are jazzed up with many historic details, in the coolest of places. Each tour varies, so you may be in for a new visit to either the Tachles Art House, the legendary RAW Tempel museum or the East Side Gallery, with a clear picture and real insight into the fabulous street art all over the city.

When it comes to partying, Berlin is known for its techno and house nights with weekends stretching well into weekdays. Head to Asphalt in Mitte for an advanced clubbing experience in a basement of a classy business hotel and underground vibe, a true party until the sunrises.

The trendy club is located not too far away from Friedrichstrasse in the heart of Berlin. The club nights run from 8pm, Thursday until Saturday nights, with an entry price of 10 – 12 euros.

 A worthwhile experience

As well as street art, fun nights and vibrant views the city is filled with many creative food vendors and restaurants, but there is one iconic plate Berlin is best known for, Currywurst, a German cultural treasure.

The famous German dish was created around 80 years ago and is the number one street food in Germany. Konnopke’s is a renowned vendor which has been around since the 1930’s and is known for making outstanding Currywurst. Although the dish is known globally, every restaurant you visit will have their own secret sauce and you are sure to find the most authentic one in Berlin’s urban sidewalks.

If you find yourself wanting more there is a museum filled with secrets, stories and the success of the famous German speciality. Berlin is also known for serving great Shawarma’s an Arabic Döner I can recommend you visit Maroush a tasty restaurant to really get your taste buds moving and enjoying the real street food in the urban city.

After great parties, food and insightful journeys, there is nothing better than a fun and unique game of glow in the dark mini golf at Schwarzlicht, if that does not sound fun enough try using 3D glasses too, the experience is inexpensive and exciting. The golf course is split into four different and funky rooms, with painted scenes and exploding walls to really provide you with a captivating and crazy game. Each game which lasts around 1 -2 hours costs 6.50 euros per person.

Lively parties, an urban night tour, renowned Currywurst and a glow in the dark mini golf experience are just a few picks to enjoy a pleasant weekend in the historic town.

Visit and enjoy life in Berlin and ask yourself: ‘Bin ich ein Berliner?’
