Eight films to look forward to seeing in 2018

Now that we are well into 2018, it's time to turn our attention to some of this years cinema releases. Fortunately there are some excellent films in the pipeline, that will keep us entertain right up until the  end of the year. Here are 8 highly anticipated releases.

15:17 to Paris

February 9th

Any movie directed by Clint Eastwood over the last few years has been must see cinema. (Sully, American Sniper). However, using the real-life heroes as the main actors will be something we have never seen before. This will make it interesting to see how these three amateur actors perform in such a high-profile film.

Black Panther

16th February

Any movie set in the Marvel Universe is a must-see film, however Black Panther might be the most scrutinized and anticipated Marvel film to come out yet. Starring Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther, it will be interesting to see how the film connects to the rest of the Marvel Universe as well as the detail and depth put in to the fictional African country of Wakanda.

Ready Player One

30th March

Steven Spielberg's return to Science Fiction should be enough to generate excitement for this movie. Based on a novel of the same name, the movie takes place in a distant Earth, where the majority of the population spends their time playing in a virtual space called Oasis. Speilberg has stated, "This is the hardest film I've worked on since Saving Private Ryan.", so you know it has a ton of potential.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

25th May

Described as a "Space-Western", this is a movie that Star Wars' fans have pined for quite some time. The movie is a stand-alone film that follows the hijinks of Han Solo and Chewbacca, two of cinema's greatest characters of all time. With some questions about the actor selected to play young Han and the firing of the directors midway through filming, this film will not only be highly anticipated, but highly scrutinized as well.

Deadpool 2

1st June

The anticipated sequel to one of the best films of 2016. Deadpool 2 will introduce the character of Cabled, played by Josh Brolin, who is seen as the opposite of Deadpool. The film will have a lot of what everyone loved about the first film, laughs, love and one hell of an enjoyable lead character.

Ocean's 8

8th June

A spin-off of from the great Ocean's 11 films, this heist movie will feature an all-female team looking to rip off the Met Gala. Some great female actresses will be on the big screen teaming up include Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson and Rihanna are some of the eight you can expect to see on the screen. Bullock, plays Debbie Ocean, the estranged brother of Danny.

Holmes and Watson

9th November

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly could not have been better choices for the roles of Holmes and Watson considering it is a comedic spin on the famous detectives. If Ferrell and Reilly can come anywhere close to matching the on-screen insanity that was Step Brothers, this should be an excellent comedic take that we have not seen before.

Bohemian Rhapsody

25th December

This film focuses on the 15 year period that formed Queen to their performance at Live Aid in 1985. If you are a huge fan of Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) like me, then you have probably seen the pictures of him as Freddie Mercury and he is a dead ringer. This should be a breakout performance and film for Malek.
