There is a not that new trend happening in London right now, and that is of the healthy vegan eating. It is all about the organic and raw foods, that make every coffee business grow, especially if it is in East London. But there is something a little different that opened doors in Oxford Circus a few months ago; Roots Juicery is not trying to be trendy, but actually believes in the healthy lifestyle. Yes, you can find raw, vegan food there as well, but their main seller is the juices they make. And they are a winner!
Let me explain a bit more. Roots Juicery is mainly a cold pressed juice bar that also serves delicious coffee and freshly prepared breakfast, salads and snacks. Or, if you’re looking for something sweet, they have a constantly changing selection of gluten free, organic and raw goodies.
You can chose between eight different juices, each filled with organic fruits and veggies, going from light green all the way to dark purple. All the juices come in glass bottles and if you bring them back, you’ll get 20p off your next purchase.
My friend and I got a coffee each – for me an Americano and he went for a Flat White, and we shared a Raw Brownie with Pistacchio and Chilli Flakes. The coffee was strong and nutty and the brownie was one of the best ones I’ve ever tried. I could’ve actually taste the chilli. The brownie wasn’t heavy or full on like others I’ve tried before, so sweet that can put you off chocolate for quite a while. This one was so light and yummy I thought that the idea of sharing one was very wrong!
Before we left the juice bar I decided I can’t leave without trying one of their juices. I went for #8 Revitali-zing. With its ingredients – orange, carrot, grapefruit, cucumber, red pepper and ginger – this juice is high on vitamin C and strengthens the immune system.
You can find the juice bar on 1 Charlotte Place, London, W1T1SA.
