I’m excited to be back with another Kettle Mag Band of the Week. We featured this band back in October, when they released the single The Blue, The Green which was an immediate hit with its tear-jerking video.
Lonely the Brave are a five-piece band from Cambridge who describe themselves as “doom-pop”. They’ve just released a new video for the song River, River which comes from the extended version of their debut album, The Day’s War, set to be released in June.
Here’s the official video for River River. We hope you’re as proud of it as we are. LTB x http://t.co/53WmuQ177k

The band said on Facebook:
“River, River was the first song we wrote after we finished “The Day’s War”. We’ve been playing it live for a good while and have been asked a lot by fans when we would release it. Although we’re working on our second record at the moment we wanted to get something new out there as quickly as possible.”
Listening to River, River, the song just builds and builds, dragging you in with their strong and emotive style. I’m truly excited to see what Lonely the Brave will deliver next. They’re a band which draws you in on every listen. They’ve got the subtle mix of soft melodies and epic hooks to keep things interesting, with a careful creativity and craft.
One of the things which really makes Lonely the Brave stand out is the exceptionally honest and brutal lyrics from frontman David Jakes. While they tell some sad stories and there’s an element of exorcising your demons to it, there’s also hope. And I have high hopes that Lonely the Brave are rising to bigger and better things.
If you’d like to see the band in action, they’re returning to England in May with a few tour dates lined up and will also be appearing at Reading and Leeds festival.
