Freshers Playlist: Top 10 songs for Freshers 2015

As if the pressure of moving away to university and surrounding yourself with new people wasn’t bad enough, you suddenly find yourself entrusted with playing DJ for pre-drinks. Here’s our top 10 songs to get the night started.

Easy Love – Sigala

A recent UK number one, it’s bound to be heard in clubs across Freshers. With echoes of summer it’s perfect for letting your new friends in on your summer antics.

Downtown – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Another song bound to be heard in the clubs, be it as a remix or as the original. It’s a bit of fun with a great sing-a-long chorus.

What Do You Mean? – Justin Bieber

There’s no point in denying this song gets stuck in your head. A little guilty pleasure in Justin Bieber never hurt anyone.

Levels – Avicii

This song may be four years old but it hasn’t aged at all. Still one of the biggest club hits of the last five years, Avicii’s ‘Levels’ will get the night started no matter what.

Ignition (Remix) – R Kelly

A throwback to the early 2000s. It’s impossible not to rap along to this! A classic that everyone out there is sure to love.

Everybody Get Up – Five

This year’s student intake may be on the verge of not remembering this song, but there’s never a bad time to throwback to some late 90s/early 00s boy bands. Be it Westlife, Five or Backstreet Boys, they’re an essential part of student nights out.

Mr Brightside – The Killers

The first of three rock sing-a-longs on our playlist. If you make it through your time at university without screaming this with your friends in a club, you haven’t lived.

Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

It’s Queen. Do we really need to say anything else?

I Bet That You Look Good On The Dance Floor – Arctic Monkeys

A slice of indie pop-rock sing-a-long that everyone can get on board with.

What Makes You Beautiful – One Direction

Whoever you are, wherever you are, there’s no point in denying that after a few drinks you’ll be singing your heart out to every single word.
