Festival highlights 2018

Written by LJayne26

Festival season has drawn to a close for summer 2018 and what a summer it has been. With music of every genre taking to stages across the country over the past few months, festival goers have been truely spolit this year. With so many bands and artists performing and so many stand out moments, we’ve whittled it down to just a few that we think really stood out this year.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes @ Slam Dunk

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes always put on a show, but this summers performance at Slam Dunk Midlands was something to remember. The early stage time on the festivals main stage made no difference to the crowd size, with the arena filling up well before their set began. It was loud, energetic and powerful from the get go. Their performance easily reafirmed our thoughts that they are one of the best live bands around right now.

Enter Shikari @ 2000 Trees

Following the theme of best live bands, Enter Shikari are up there as a front runner. Headlining the final night of 2000 Trees 2018, the band certainly closed the event in style. Every single song had the crowd completely involved and excited, the addition of Insomnia by Faithless just kicked things over the edge, in the best way. It was a headline performance masterclass bands should take notes from. If you weren’t there, you missed out.

Tom Grennan @ RiZE Festival

Tom Grennan is the name of everyones lips right now, people can’t get enough. Taking to the stage at the first ever RiZE festival was going to be full of pressure for everyone performing across the weekend but to come away as one of highlights of many peoples festival is surely the best result; and exactly what Tom Grennan suceeded in doing. He’s cool, smooth & his songs are undeniably infections – one of this summers standouts.

Post Malone @ Reading

If you were on the internet the day Post Malone played Reading festival that you will have undoubtably have seen the buzz. Whilst many people often comment on the changing nature of the R&L Festival line up and its musical diversity, it’s hard to argue with crowd reactions like that – this is exactly the line up that people want right now. With his songs all over the radio and people singing back every word, Post Malone is surely going to feature in many peoples highlights of the festival this year.
