Eyebrow Grooming: The simple way to make the best of your brows

The beauty world is crazier for eyebrows right now than it has ever been before. Ever since Cara Delevingne arrived on the scene with her big and bushy (yet perfectly shaped) brows, we’ve been ditching the tweezers and growing out our eyebrow hairs with the same care and attention we give the ones on our heads.

Personally, I have never really done much with my brows in terms of shaping, as I have never had to worry about having too many hairs. Some would say I’m lucky, but then again because they’re naturally shaped already this means it’s a lot harder for me to create a different shape or grow my brows out. To maintain the colour of my brows, I get them tinted every 3-4 weeks. I have tried out many salons across Lancashire and Merseyside and have never been disappointed. I think most beauticians nowadays are aware of how important brows are and how they can shape and define your face, as well as bringing out features.

HD brows are also brilliant for anyone who likes a more prominent shape as the dye tends to stay a week or so longer before you need a top up. However, being a student means I’m on a tight budget, and when a quick tint does just as well, I don’t see the point in spending more money when I can groom my brows myself.

My favourite products

NO7’s Beautiful Eyebrow Sculpting Pencil is a dream. Available from Boots for £8.00, the double-ended stick comes with a brow brush and an angled pencil. I use a light brown shade which has been the perfect colour for me when I’ve had blonde and dark hair – it’s so important to make sure you get a shade which is going to match you perfectly.

To fill in my brows, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Dip Brow Pomade in the dark brown shade. I find that this is perfect to use when I’m going for a night time look, especially because it makes my brows look a lot fuller. You’ll find all of Anastasia’s range online at Beauty Bay – sadly we can’t buy anything directly here in the UK yet. Dip Brow is available at £15.00, with free delivery. If you’re after some serious brow inspiration, I’d definitely check out the @AnastasiaBeverlyHills Instagram page!

Once filled in exactly how I like them, its then time for them to set. Maybelline’s Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara is absolutely brilliant for this. I must have had the bottle for half a year now and I’m definitely going to repurchase this. You’ll find it in Boots or Superdrug for £4.99.

I am aware that you can get a brow serum which helps your brows to grow, but I honestly cannot be bothered spending more grooming time on my brows when they are manageable already. But if you’re looking to grow yours out more, you should definitely give it a go!

So that’s my brow routine. Fuss free and quick to do along with the rest of my make-up.
