Despite conquering the FM airwaves with a weekly audience of over 5.6 million listeners, Charlie Hedges’ real home is inside the DJ booth of your favourite club. With a relentless touring schedule that has seen her spin records at some of the most prestigious venues across the UK and beyond, not to mention on board all British Airways flights worldwide as part of their in-flight entertainment, she’s hot property. So there’s no denying that a partnership between Charlie and the UK’s busiest ticket website, Skiddle, makes perfect sense.
From January 2016, Charlie Hedges will be presenting the brand new Skiddle ‘Weekends Matter’ Podcast across all formats.
Skiddle is gaining popularity
Started in 2001, Skiddle has become one of the UK’s biggest primary ticket agents with over two million unique visitors a month – recently overtaking Ticketmaster in Alexa’s website rankings. With a growing focus on original content covering electronic music, festivals and live music, the ‘Weekends Matter’ podcast began in 2012 and has since featured guest mixes from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Darius Syrossian, Greg Wilson and plenty more.
Moving into 2016, the format will be given a brand new look and feel whilst still retaining the focus on cutting edge house music that has always underpinned the show. It will feature brand new music, guest mixes and exclusive interviews with the scene’s biggest names, showcasing both Charlie’s music tastes and the hottest sounds currently dominating UK dancefloors.

It’s the perfect partnership, and is best described in Charlie’s own words:
“I’m so excited to be presenting the new-look Skiddle Podcast from January 2016 doing what I love the most: playing house music! The team at Skiddle share my passion, commitment and love of electronic music, and by joining forces with them I know we’ll be able to bring you the very best in weekend-ready house every single month. We’ve got plenty of guests, mixes and huge tracks lined up to remind you that Weekends Matter.”
Jimmy Coultas, head of content and communication at Skiddle, said:
“We’re delighted that Charlie Hedges will kick off our podcast in 2016 – she’s not only a great radio host with a proven pedigree but also a quality club DJ. We’re looking forward to her expertise shifting the show to be more focused on discovering the most exciting sounds dominating UK clubland.”
The ‘Weekends Matter’ podcast will be available on iTunes, Mixcloud and via Charlie Hedges’ Soundcloud from January.
