Songwriter Simone Felice has just completed a UK tour and his new EP ’New York Times’ was released on October 22. The EP is the follow-up to Simone’s critically acclaimed debut album which came out earlier. The new EP features ‘New York Times’ from the recent album, as well as four unreleased out-takes from the debut album sessions. Hi Simone Felice, how are you today – what’s been the highlight of your day so far?
On my way home from San Francisco, coming over the Golden Gate Bridge at daybreak.
What’s your favourite season and why?
Autumn. A time a reap. A time to reflect. I love lighting the first fires in my wood stove in the mountains when the nights turn cold.
What is the most impressive thing you can cook?
New York strips rubbed in fresh rosemary on the woodfired grill.

People loved your debut album – how did it feel to get such a great reaction?
That the songs I write mean anything to people is a bit of a miracle for me, and helps add meaning to the work I do.
How was the tour – where was the best venue/crowd?
The whole tour was special, I was cradled by love and wonderful musicians and friends, Union Chapel was especially memorable for the setting and ghosts

What are you doing next?
Lighting fires, singing with my little daughter as the leaves fall.
