The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-man, Prometheus and Men in Black 3 were all eagerly awaited in 2012 by film fans everywhere. Flocks of people amassed at cinema screens around the world and now that the summer rush is over, what’s next? At the beginning of the year I constructed a list of the big films expected from 2012 and here are a few that caught my eye.

Now I don’t know if many of you have read the book ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ but you should and you should do so quickly as October 3rd brings the release of the film adaptation. Emma Watson stars and interestingly the writer of the novel has also written the screenplay and directed the film.

I will find you and I will kill you.” Yes, for any Liam Neeson fans, Taken 2 is coming. It hopes to be as good as the first and I’m sure fans hope so too. This time he’s in Istanbul, him and his wife are taken hostage and he’s going to be as badass as he usually is and fight the baddies.

Awkwardly, the next and final film in The Twilight Saga comes out in November. Last year saw part 1 of Breaking Dawn causing a frenzy in the cinemas and I’m sure once again will have a mass following. And why is it awkward? Well for anyone who has completely surpassed the recent celebrity news, K-Stew and R-Patz broke up following her affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. It’s not exactly going to be a comfortable time for the pair as they are forced to promote this film together… or maybe even apart circumstance depending.

And finally, the biggest film for the winter season. Any LOTR fan will know that December brings The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. As a fan myself, I’ve been watching director Peter Jackson’s production videos that he’s been putting up online throughout the year. I recommend these to anyone. It really sets the stage for this film. It’s going to be something special and the beginning of a new adventure as far as the books go.
