The hottest lip colours this summer

Lipstick for the summer, kettle mag, emily cox
Written by Emily Cox

While the weather outside may be dreary today, we can’t deny the flecks of sunshine peeping through the clouds outside. With the warmer months ahead of us, I put away the gorgeous earthy purples and vampish reds, in favour of tangerine oranges and fluorescent pinks to get effortlessly summer ready.

Pinks

Topshop Lips in Innocent, £8.00
Topshop’s lipstick range is wonderful. Within the drugstore budget, creamy and in a range of colours to suit any season. ‘Innocent’ adds a cute wash of creamy colour on makeup melting days.

Sleek Matte Me in Petal, £4.99
These matte lip stains do not budge! You can eat and drink without it budging and the colour is beautiful. For such a reasonable price these lipsticks are worth stocking up on when you get the chance.

OCC Cosmetics Lip Tar in Femme, £14.00
Beauty Bay recently began stocking Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and this shade screams summer sunshine. Like candy floss, this matte shade even comes with a brush for precise application.

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107, £5.49
The Kate Moss lipsticks are always a firm favourite, especially if you’re just starting off your makeup set. This bright matte shade is my favourite for nights out during the summer months.

Nude

Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks in 03, £5.49
Even though pinks and corals are firm summer favourites, nudes are in all year round. This shade not only smells deliciously like fruit but has a gorgeous sheen without wearing off too quickly.

Corals and reds

Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya, £7.99
If you’re not someone who enjoys intense colours then these lip butters are well worth investing in. The colour isn’t overpowering but still gives a lovely sheen on the lips.

L’oreal Color Richet Matte in VIP, £6.99
These lipsticks are wonderfully matte and smell like heaven. This shade floats between red & coral and suits pretty much any skin tone, making it the perfect addition to any summer makeup bag.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Bang, £15.50
This range of lipsticks are creamy and stay on for hours. The packaging is also beautiful, which is something that always pulls me in. This specific shade has a burst of orange which lights up your face, suiting tanned tones down to a tee. Perfect if you’ve caught the sun!

So there you have it! Get the sun cream packed, travel sized shampoo in your suitcase and throw in all of these beautiful shades to make your lips stand out for all the right reasons this summer.
