Everybody knows that once its April, the rest of the year goes pretty quickly and before you know it- it’s summer and you have holidays booked and a bikini body is on your mind. Now is the time when many of us are getting back into the gym for summer preparation- and I have the best workout shoes that you should be using.

Nike Air Max 2017- £140 (store.nike.com)

Although well known and perhaps cliché, these running shoes are great for running at the gym or just pounding the streets. I have a pair of these myself and I have never found my feet to be in pain or had any ill-effects. In fact they are my personal favourites.

Reebok Astrofoam- £44.95 (reebok.co.uk)

If you are more into running than lifting weights, Reebok have you covered. The Astrofoam have cushioning on the soles for comfort and extra grip on the heels to help you really make sure you are as stable as possible when running. Plus if you're prone to that feet sweat when you take your shoes off after a gym-seth, Reebok have you covered there too. Thankfully, the top part of the shoe is made of breathable fabric!

Reebok OG Lifter- £124.95 (reebok.co.uk)

If you really hate cardio and prefer to go heavy on the weights. the OG Lifter by Reebok is going to be your go-to-shoe. It is specifically designed for weightlifting- designed for optimum “heel to toe ratio” to help with those pesky squats and deadlifts. Keeping you stable and secure in your lifts. They've had rave reviews on the Reebok website with many supporting the claim of them being stable and reliable in the gym- so they really are worth the investment!

New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v2- £105 (newbalance.co.uk)

If you’re someone that has sensitive feet and needs a bit more cushioning then these are perfect. Although they are trail running shoes and meant for hard, rocky terrain- they cannot be beaten on comfort. Lightweight and packed with cushioning foam they are wonderful for if you are a heavy-footed runner or just find that your feet need that bit more support – or y’know – you want to get into trail running. Either way you can’t go wrong.

Women's Ultra 110 GORE-TEX® Shoes- £120 (thenorthface.co.uk)

If you get bored of the gym and fancy taking your workout outside, no matter the weather, these shoes will get you through. These shoes incorporate waterproof Gore-Tex and all-weather traction to make sure you stay on track and keep your feet dry; even during the most robust workouts or the worst weather. Not only that, but if you fancy a hilly walk or a difficult trek in exchange for a gym session, the strong toes and deep traction on these trainers give you unparalleled grip on the most uneven terrain. It’s a no-brainer really.
