The MTV European Music Awards: The Best and the Worst of the Red Carpet Looks

Katy Perry. Katy wore a Zac Posen dress on the red carpet it was a beautiful knee length mint colored number, which fitted her  body to perfection. The dress had both eye catching neckline and shoulder detailing, however I felt like this dress was too conservative for the VMA’s it definitely did not make me roar, I was expecting to see the lioness or tiger in Kate on the red carpet.

Miley Cyrus. I actually thought Miley’s red carpet look was ok: the dress itself was not memorable in my humble opinion, but the Tom Ford knee high black and white boots she had on were banging and wasted by being paired with the dress she wore. From that point onwards it was downhill. Her stage performance and her award collecting outfits were a hot mess. I’m assuming  that her one piece swimsuit/leotard with heels were suppose to conjure up sexiness, but there is something about Miley in that ensemble that just looks dirty and I don’t mean sexy dirty, Miley looks like she needs a bath and a good ole scrub.

Rita Ora. She wore a Calvin Klein black dress with a thigh high split, and I have to say wow. That is the best I have ever seen that chick look. Don’t get me wrong, she has been photographed wearing nice pieces, but she never seems well put together she has a sloppiness about her in my opinion, but she scrubbed up well for her VMA’s red carpet stroll. Finally regarding Rita, Ms Ora loves her signature red lips and ice queen colored hair and that in itself make’s a strong statement and can come off confusing with many of her past looks but it worked well with the simplistic beauty of the Calvin Klein dress.

Ellie Goulding. Ellie Goulding and her Dolce and Gabbana lace see through sheath which  was absolutely gorgeous, now that to me was Rock n Roll. I feel like through the years the VMA’s has lost that Rock n Roll edge and I’m not talking about the music specifically, looking at Ellie draped in her Dolce and Gabbana  dress  bought that feel back. My only raised eyebrow moment regarding her ensemble, was when she turned around and I realized her panty girdle was not covering her backside well enough, the full coverage in the front and only partial coverage in the back caused that look to go from a 10 to a 6, because after seeing Kim Khardashian’s back shot all over instagram no one wants to see that.

Iggy Azalea. My girl Iggy Azalea wore a Dilek Hanif dress and she wore it well.   A gorgeous dress that had a lot of abstract detailing going on in the upper half of the dress, so her choice of a simple high sleek pony tail was the perfect hair do for this dress. I will add though that this friggin attention seeker had to slightly spoil this whole look, by listening to the devil perched on her left shoulder telling her to kick it up a notch and show her crotch, to secure some front page news and snatch that crown off Myley Cyrus’s head.

Arianna Grande. Who the hell is dressing this child? She looked like she was on her way to the European summit, or a meeting with the president at the white house or church. This dress would look lovely on Kate Hudson or on Kate Winslett or some else in that age range, maybe even Madonna, but unfortunately not Arianna. She needs to hook up with Miley Cyrus’s stylist- but seriously, give her a couple more years and three albums so that we can all gawk with our jaws dropped, as she runs around on stage half naked and we are thinking my, has she grown!
