New year, new me, maybe a more fashionable me? As we’re stepping into 2017 I tend to be one of those people who carefully plan their resolutions and end up not sticking to them. I know, I should be ashamed, but this is my year and this year I’m holding onto them.
I love clothes, patterns, fabrics and for that I wish to mix and match more and step out of my comfort zone this year. So, here are my fashion resolutions for this year:
Wear more colour
I am the kind of person who will create 8 out of 10 outfits in a monochrome vibe. Not because I’m not creative enough, but because I know it will look good and you can never go wrong with a simple combination of colours. This is why this year I plan to play with colours more and wear them proudly.
Wear statement pieces
I love seeing people wearing statement pieces, like a chunky necklace or a metallic jacket. I believe it adds an extra touch to the outfit and makes it stand out. To still feel comfortable, I will try to wear some statement items which I absolutely love and which will flatter me too.
Fashion is not just about clothes, fashion is an art, a science, it’s a beautiful topic which does not limit itself to pretty clothing. This year I plan to read more about this industry, to watch and document some key movements and to become more and more involved with all the concepts which surround fashion.
In the fashion world one of the most important things is to be able to speak your mind and tell others what you think. Of course, manners are key, but we all should be allowed to say what we like and what we don’t. So I’m making the resolution of standing my ground whether I like or dislike an item.
What are your 2017 fashion resolutions?
