As the days get shorter and the temperature drops, autumn is the perfect time to head down to your local cinema and watch a film. There are plenty of unmissable blockbusters coming out during the next few months, and we have included a list of seven of the best ones below.

Bridget Jones' Baby

Release Date: In cinemas now

Bridget Jones is back on the big screen after a long break with the third film in the hilarious franchise. Although it seems nothing like the most recent Bridget Jones book, judging by the trailer, Bridget Jones' Baby is sure to be a good film, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Expect cameos from Emma Thompson and Ed Sheeran, and, of course, Colin Firth as one of the baby's possible fathers.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

Release Date: In cinemas now

I personally have yet to read Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, but I know some of my friends have and they can't wait to see the film adaptation later this month. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children focuses on a teenage boy (played by Asa Butterfield) who visits a mysterious island and soon realises that there is something strange about the children who live there. Big names such as Eva Green, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson also make appearances in this film.

The Girl On the Train

Release Date: In cinemas now

The Girl On the Train is a thriller based on the top-selling book of the same name. Emily Blunt stars as Rachel Watson, a divorcee who takes the commuter train at the same time every day. She becomes familiar with a couple who live in one of the houses the train drives past, and after reading an article about a missing persons case, Rachel's life becomes entangled with theirs. The Girl On the Train is perfect for fans of Gone Girl and Before I Go To Sleep.

A Street Cat Named Bob

Release Date: In cinemas now

A Street Cat Named Bob is a feel-good film about a busker whose life changes after he meets a stray cat on the streets of London. Luke Treadaway portrays James Bowen, the busker who is recovering from a drug addiction, while Bob the cat features as himself. A Street Cat Named Bob is inspirational and can be watched by anyone, especially those of us who love cats.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Release Date: 18th November

In this much-anticipated spin-off of the hugely successful Harry Potter series, a scholar (Eddie Redmayne) stops off in New York for what is intended as a short trip, only to accidentally let a load of magical creatures escape from his briefcase. The film is set in 1926, long before Harry Potter arrives at Hogwarts, and introduces us to the American wizarding world.

Moana

Release Date: 2nd December

Moana is Walt Disney's latest release and its first CG animation. The film introduces us to Moana, a spirited teenager from Hawaii who sets off on an epic journey to find a fabled island in an attempt to help her family. She is joined by the demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), and together they set sail across the South Pacific, encountering mythical sea creatures and other various obstacles along the way.
